You MUST have completed Heroes & Monsters 2 to attend this class.

This class allows us to connect the work we have already done on characters and environments and start to create dramatic scenes that will enable you to put your skills into practice. Richard Dorton will lead you as we explore the most common types of motion capture work, learn how to extract critical information from directors and animators, and develop the skills that will allow you to be more self reliant in the volume, especially when working with new or inexperienced directors. Led by Mocap Vaults Guru Kiff VandenHeuvel, we will be expanding on improv exercises specifically for mocap. Working  with head cams and Mime to pre-record are also covered in this class, helping connect your performance with the technology.

This is a practical class where we will be engaging in exercises and scene work. It will not take place in a motion capture studio because this inevitably slows things down and serves as an unnecessary distraction. This class follows our Heroes and Monsters series and, it serves as an excellent preparation for our Cinematics class. The majority of the material in this class will also be applicable to stage and screen work.

Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move in and bring something to make notes with.

This class does not take place in a mocap studio as it would only serve as a distraction and additional cost at this stage.
