Building on the skills you learned in the Intro class, this takes things to the next level, giving you advanced, practical skills that are essential for creating and playing characters in the performance capture industry.

Every movement is an expression of character and as such they should all be filled with life. How a character walks, runs, turns and interacts with their world says so much about who they are. How do we adjust what we're saying with our bodies in a subtle way to meet the demands of the director? How do we do the same thing for three other characters on the same day, making them all unique without being over the top? How do we create a living, breathing, truthful character in this piece by piece way? This class focuses on developing techniques while also familiarising you with the type of material you will be working with as a professional performance capture actor.

Richard Dorton has earned his stripes from doing these kinds of shoots for decades. He has developed iron clad techniques that are fast, effective and catch the eye of every director and game developer. He has created dozens of iconic characters in many, many games and movies. In this masterclass he will share those trade secrets and techniques with you. Assisted by Darren Bailey and Jarrell Hall, the three will put you through your paces and introduce you to new techniques and equipment like arm extensions to bring your characters to life.

The masterclass will not make use of motion capture technology or suits as these only serve as an obstacle and distraction in a class like this.

NOTE: You MUST have completed our Intro to Mocap Acting to take this class.

NOTE: By purchasing this class you agree to our cancellation policy which states that we require a minimum of seven days notice in order to qualify for a refund. We will attempt to replace you in the event of a cancellation. If we are able to replace you, you will receive a refund minus admin fee that amounts to 25% of your original payment for the class.. Paypal have recently changed their terms and conditions and will no longer refund their transaction fees so this will be included in addition to the admin fee. This means that you will receive the total, minus the Admin & Paypal fee, in the event of a refund.

If you cancel within 7 days of the class and we cannot replace you, you will not receive a refund.

If you would like to carry over a credit for a class missed due to illness or other circumstances beyond The Mocap Vaults control, and agreed upon by the Instructor, you will only be able to carry the credit over for the next following class that is offered on the date it is offered with no exceptions. After that, you will forfeit the credit and not be issued a refund.
